Despite this, he was still defeated by his son. After briefly being taken over completely by his Devil, Kazuya was able to take back control and permanently merge with his Devil. They instead met after Kazuya lost the final round of the tournament to Heihachi, with Heihachi revealing he had kidnapped Jin and intended to use both him and Kazuya for his experimental research. He was due to fight his son (and meet him for the first time) in the semi-finals of the tournament, but Jin was kidnapped by Heihachi's Tekken Force before this could happen. Once his existence was revealed to Heihachi, Kazuya entered the fourth tournament, despite knowing it was a trap set up by his father. Of course, this plan did not go as Kazuya intended: Heihachi ruined it by invading G Corporation and stealing their research.
Kazuya had learned from his mistakes: the next time he faced Heihachi, he wanted to be in full control of his Devil powers. Against all odds, a cutting edge bio-technology corporation, G Corporation, eventually located Kazuya's remains and managed to restore him to life, eventually reaching an agreement with him to use him as a test subject. This would not be the end for Kazuya however. Kazuya's Devil was split in two and part of it escaped his body to eventually make contact with his son, who succeeded his father as the series' new protagonist. Heihachi defeated Kazuya and tossed his body into a volcano, apparently killing him. At the final round of the tournament waited none other than the man who Kazuya thought to have killed two years ago: his father. At this time, Kazuya's Devil was trying to completely take over his mind and body, and both Jun and the mysterious entity, known as Angel, struggled to keep it from controlling him entirely. His exact relation with Jun is unknown, although she sought to save him from the influence of Devil, and later bore his child.
One day, Kazuya decided to hold another Iron Fist tournament, and during the tournament, encountered a woman, Jun Kazama, whom he described as mysterious and approaching without fear. As part of realizing this dream, he attempted to genetically engineer animal soldiers ( Roger) and even genetically engineered a dinosaur from fossils and kangaroo DNA ( Alex). He even seized control of nearly all of Japan's northernmost and second-largest island, Hokkaido, and planned to build his own independent nation and a strong military force there. His crimes included kidnapping, extorting money from several businesses and many organizations, and smuggling endangered animal species. After killing his father (or so he thought), instead of bringing justice and honor to the Mishima Zaibatsu and righting the wrongs of his father, Kazuya repeated the corrupt practices of his father and turned it into an even much more ruthless and evil organization. Tekken 2 saw Kazuya's true nature revealed in full. However, this near-death experience awakened something within him, giving him immense strength and apparently permanently corrupting his personality. One fateful day when Kazuya was five-years-old, Heihachi threw the young Kazuya into a deep ravine, seemingly to test whether he would be strong enough to survive and one day head the Mishima Zaibatsu, which nearly kills the boy. In Tekken 7, he is more defiant towards Heihachi as a boy, though is still small and powerless against him. Another clue indicating Kazuya's true intent and nature was his secret costume in the Playstation port of the first game, which turned out to be Devil.Īccording to some sources, Kazuya was actually quite frail and timid as a boy and was the victim of years of abuse at the hands of Heihachi.
The Russian military even learned of these plans and entered the first Jack android into the tournament to stop him. However, Kazuya was in truth intended to be more villainous from the start, as his character profile in the first Tekken stated that his reason for entering the first King of Iron Fist Tournament was to exact revenge, and then use his father's vast fortune to carry out his plans for world domination. At first glance, Kazuya seems to be another archetypal fighting game hero protagonist, supported by his clothing of choice, simple white pants and red gloves and footpads, and his justifiable quest of taking revenge on his abusive father, Heihachi Mishima.
